Rosacea is a more common condition than people realise. It is thought to be due to abnormal angiogenesis (the process of growing new blood vessels) which causes a range of symptoms ranging from redness in the cheeks and nose to thickened skin on the nose. Flare ups can occur due to spicy food, alcohol and the hot weather.
